Shot Mimic does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Everything the app sees and records stays on your device. We have no servers. We receive no data about you.
Shot Mimic uses your iPhone's camera in real time to analyze your shooting form. It uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect body joint positions during your shot. The camera feed is processed frame-by-frame on your device — nothing is sent anywhere. When you complete a session, Shot Mimic temporarily records the session video to your device's local temporary storage so you can review your shots with a pose overlay immediately after. This file is stored only in iOS's temporary directory, is never uploaded or transmitted, and is not saved to your photo library. If you choose to export the video using the share sheet, that action is entirely at your discretion. iOS automatically clears temporary files periodically; deleting the app removes all associated data.
If you choose to import a video clip to create a custom player profile, Shot Mimic reads that video from your photo library. The video is processed locally on your device to extract pose data. The video file itself is not copied, stored, or transmitted by the app.
Shot Mimic does not use your microphone. The app speaks coaching feedback through your speaker using Apple's built-in text-to-speech — no audio is recorded.
Shot Mimic stores the following data locally on your device using iOS's standard secure storage:
